You write your blog article for your human followers.

Then comes the chore of massaging the content so that the spyders on the web can consume it.

And finally the results appear with your post or page displayed somewhere in the oh great search engine (page 1, page2, ….page 1 gazillion and 3!).

I’ve got a good WordPress Plugin in my toolbox that helps with the chore of spyder ready content.

It’s called SEOPressor and it really helps me create technically correct – yet easy to read content.

When you first start using the plugin, just write your full blog post, then go through the suggestions made in the plug in window.  As you get use to the plugin, over time you’ll find that your writing style will adapt to the plugin and you’ll end up save time because you’re producing technically correct posts.

I’m constantly configuring new windows based computer systems for clients.  Some of the clients are technically literate and wanted me to provide a quick list of apps I use and the order to install.  So here’s the quick version:

I’m constantly asked where I host all my domains. I keep hearing from fellow business owners about:

We’ll for years I’ve been using a couple “Baby” accounts with HostGator to host my domains and I have to say that I’ve been very happy with the uptime, admin tools and awesome tech support.

Allway Sync Home Page

Whether I meet a new client face to face or log into their computer and talk over the phone, it doesn’t take long for them to ask advice on how to protect their small business or personal data on their computers.  Hopefully the client’s are proactive and they’re calling me before there is a problem:

I usually ask them if they are comfortable navigating around on their hard drive using Windows Explorer.

If they can handle navigating to a folder,  then I tell them about an easy file sync program called Allway Sync.  Setting up a new job is easy:

1. In the left panel navigate to the folder you want to back up.
2. In the right panel navigate to the folder location where you want the back to go to.
3. Click on the Analyze button
4. Once Allway Sync is finished analyzing, click on Synchronize button.

So it’s pretty simple.  You then clean up the process by naming the job and setting how often you want the program to automatically perform the sync process.

Awesome Facebook Template

Ok… so you know you need to tap into Facebook and drive traffic to your business – but you don’t want to invest a gazillion hours into the project.

I’m in the same boat – I have to setup a business places page for a company and help them convert prospects into clients. (ie.. entice them to hit the “Like” button)

So I’m going to share my research and work flow here to give you and idea if you want to tackle the project for your small business or contract it out. – (Hint: Call me and I’ll either help you through the process or do it all for your business)

Here’s the top level workflow:

Setup your facebook account

Create a Places page for your business

Design a landing page for prospects to see

Only goal of this page is to get prospect to click the like button

This page is pure HTML code – don’t worry I’ll show you where to get an awsome template that you can easily tweak for your business.

Design a full blown site within Facebook that only clients will see after they have clicked on the like button.

Once you’re happy with your places page, the next step is to create a vanity url

A vanity url looks like this: www.facebook/YourBusinessName

Note: before you can create this link your page must have at least 25 fans to establish a vanity URL – So use some your personal and business contacts and ask them to “like” your business page.

Now that your page is live – promote it!
